Woman killed in A30 Redruth collision is named

The deceased woman has been formally identified and has been named as Miss Tammy Platow, aged 31 years old who was from Penryn.

At around 6.48pm last night (Wednesday 11 January) police received a report of a collision involving two vehicles on the A30 near Avers in the Redruth area.

The collision involved a red Hyundai Santa Fe car which collided with the rear of a green tractor that was towing a loaded trailer.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 31 year old woman from the Penryn area died at the scene.  A one year old child was also in the car but thankfully only sustained  minor injuries, although was kept in Treliske Hospital overnight as a precaution.

The driver of the tractor from the Camborne area was uninjured.

The road was closed for approximately eight hours.
