Fatal collision on A38 near Avonwick


Motorcyclist died at the scene

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision yesterday, Thursday 16th February.

At around 9:36pm, police were called following a collision on the A38 near Avonwick, South Brent.

It is believed that a motorcyclist was riding in a group of three on the A38 in an easterly direction approaching Shell Carew Services, when one man fell from his Harley Davidson motorcycle. A Honda Civic was travelling in the same direction on the A38 when it subsequently collided with the motorcyclist who had fallen.

Emergency services attended and the road as closed for over 6 hours. Sadly, the motorcyclist, 49-year-old man from the Brixham area was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision. Please contact quoting log number 892 for the 16th of February.
