Woman named following fatal collision in Redruth

Police still appealing for witnesses.

A woman who died following a single car collision at Hillside near Stithians Lake, Carnmenellis, Redruth, has been named.

The woman has been formally identified as 29-year-old Hazel Brown from Redruth.

Emergency services were called at approximately 8.50pm on Tuesday 16 May following reports of the collision.

As a result of the incident the vehicle entered the water of the lake. Hazel, who was driving, was conveyed to Treliske hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Police closed the road for five and a half hours while a specialist forensic examination of the scene was carried out.

Officers from Plymouth and Camborne Roads Policing Team attended the scene and are appealing for further witnesses to come forward.
