Child named

A seven-year-old girl, who was killed as she walked along a road in Looe on Thursday 1 March 2018, has today been named.

Maisie Duncan, from Looe, was fatally injured when she was struck by a Nissan car on Bodrigan Road. The vehicle then collided with a property on the same road.

The incident happened at around 2.30pm. As a result, Maisie sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the car, a local man, was uninjured.

Localised closures were put in place as emergency services attended the incident.

Weather at the time was challenging, with snow and ice present, and as a result recovery of the vehicle was carried out the following day.
