Fatal collision, Wadebridge


Man fatally injured

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A39 St Kew near Wadebridge yesterday [Thursday 16 March] in which a 63-year-old man died.

Emergency services were called at around 4.40pm to reports of a collision between a black Honda XL 1000V motorbike and a red Nissan X Trail car.

The motorcyclist died at the scene as a result of the collision. His next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the Nissan, a man in his 60s, was taken to Treliske Hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The Air Ambulance was also at the scene and a road closure was in place for approximately five hours whilst the Serious Collisions Investigation Team and the Roads Policing Team carried out an examination of the scene.

Police from the Roads Policing Team are appealing for witnesses to this incident to contact them via or telephone 101, quoting log number 0523 of 16/03/17.
